Combining advanced high-strength steel with new manufacturing processes enables engineers to apply thinner high-strength steels to produce lighter-weight parts, while maintaining or improving strength and other performance properties. The A/SP has accelerated technical developments leading to mass reduction with steel, helping automakers design lighter-weight vehicles to meet fuel economy requirements.
